Headliners Everyone says hi are made up of a Kaiser Chief Nick Hodgson, The Kooks Pete Denton , Ben Gordon from The Dead 60s, Glenn Moule of Howling Bells, and guitarist Tom Dawson. Tonight they played a blinder. But with that heritage how could they play anything less. 10/10 a gig of the year.

First up tonight were Tungz who played the sort of '80s synth pop that reminded me of Level 42 and Howard Jones. Although to be fair they were a man down as their drummer had appendicitis so they made do with a drum machine. I'm sure a real drummer would have beefed up the sound.
December 9, 2025 at 10:34 PM
Out tonight to the Lexington to see indie supergroup "Everyone says hi" supported by Bristol synthpop quartet Tungz.

Headliner Bill Ryder-Jones played a 90 minute set of oldies to a sold out crowd. Most of the set was pre Lechyd Da and at least half was just Bill on his own with a guitar the other half was with cellist Evelyn Hall (Pet Snake, Clean Cut Kid). A solid 10/10 gig.
December 4, 2025 at 11:23 PM
First up was alt-country star Brooke Bentham. Brooke is used to playing stadiums as part of Sam Fender's band. Tonight it's a bit smaller venue and she just has Robert Chaney on guitar accompanying her.

Out tonight to see Bill Ryder-Jones at Cecil Sharp House supported by singer songwriter Brooke Bentham.
December 4, 2025 at 8:46 PM
Headliners Mén An Tol played a 10 song set with a few new tracks and plenty of old favourites. It's the 8th time I've seen them play in the last year and think this was the best set of all.
December 2, 2025 at 11:07 PM
Second band at the Lexington tonight were London four-piece Little Grandad who also mixed up the genres. They have a trumpet player and I'm a sucker for a trumpet so they can do no wrong.
December 2, 2025 at 11:07 PM
First up was Bristol band Dogsbody with their first gig in London. A stunningly good set you have to watch out for them. There's a bit of indie, a bit of jazz and a bit of Tim Buckley in there, a weird mix I know, but it works very well.
December 2, 2025 at 8:43 PM
Out tonight to see Mên An Tol's penultimate show of 2025 at the Lexington supported by Little Grandad and Dogsbody.

Headliners Woom were as near perfect as you can get. Their three-part harmonies were probably the most beautiful thing I've heard all year.
November 29, 2025 at 11:53 PM
First up were London folk-jazz duo Loa a collaboration between Genevieve Dawson (vocals) and Rick Leigh (keyboards & vocals)
November 29, 2025 at 11:52 PM
Had a few weeks off seeing gigs but back out tonight to see Woom supported by Loa at the Folklore Rooms in Brighton.

Benefits at Lower Third. Watching Benefits is a visceral cathartic experience. You don't just watch them you experience them. They sneak up behind you hit you over the head, knock you to the ground, jump on your head then kick you in the kidneys.

First up at Lower Third tonight was Dan Le Sac with a manic dnb set which seemed to hit about 1200bpm in places. Lush. Welcome back Dan.

Out tonight to see Benefits supported by Dan Le Sac at Lower Third, London. First gigs for Dan in 9 years apparently!

Headliners tonight at Chalk Brighton are Manchester's Maruja. Last time I saw them they blew me away, and they've just done it again. 10 tracks and 100 minutes. You have to see them!
November 12, 2025 at 11:17 PM
First up at Chalk Brighton tonight are Belfast rap metal band Enola Gay. A 45 minute 11 track set of beautiful noise. Ireland seems to be producing so many great bands.
