A friend asked about Lindgren's decline and I pointed out something similar. He had a better time in Gallant's "system" that conceded the blue line and aimed to keep everything perimeter. Laviolette demands much more from his D in all 3 zones and Lindgren just can't keep up.

Zac Jones, prior to scoring, beat all three Seattle forwards by himself to create a 3v2 entry zone entry.
THIS is what was missing against Florida last season. NYR couldn't unlock the neutral zone. They need more puck-movers from the back.
Jones should be in the lineup for good.

Zac Jones, prior to scoring, beat all three Seattle forwards by himself to create a 3v2 entry zone entry.

the numbers clearly back up the “eye test”. They looked very good last night, only giving up 24 SOG (don’t forget the beast that is Quick). Good to see the #advancedstats also back it up. Unfortunately, I think one bad game will lead to Lavy going back to the old core despite sample size. #NYR
