I am buzzing about #secretsantaaonz and the absolute absurdity that a bunch of total strangers who only know each other online and usually anonymously go and spend time thinking about that person and choosing gifts, wrapping and sending them for no other reason than to bring a bit of joy.

#SecretSantaAoNZ am weeping buckets here. I will treasure this beautiful thoughtful gift for the rest of my life. I can't get over the kindness and dedication it took to put this together. No one could know but I've been having a pretty thin time of it lately & this has touched and moved me deeply.

Caring for a loved one with dementia is not for those who lack resolve. She may look like an adult, but her reasoning isn't an adult's. Doing stuff for their benefit despite what they say they want feels like nine kinds of wrong in a blender. Just have to take that medicine regardless. Yuck.

It's hard enough to get my sister to eat and drink because of her poor memory & lack of insight. Having fallen & dinged up her hands and broken her jaw, she is now on liquids & soft food for 7+weeks. She won't take pain relief & won't drink. Sarcastic & belittling when I try. IV fluids loom. Ugh!
