This document is one of the great political failures of our time. It must be immediately denounced by all people of good will. And it will be a major scandal if any "civil rights" organization gives cover to this capitulation to fascism.
SENATE AND HOUSE DEMOCRATS ARE UNITED ON REINING IN THE ABUSES OF ICE

Americans have watched in horror as ICE has terrorized communities across the country

Federal agents can’t continue to cause chaos in our cities while more Americans are killed

We must rein in ICE

Here’s what we're demanding:

Hours after I first posted this article, I was told that several VA nurses who are members of AFGE will attend the union’s annual legislative conference in Washington next week to raise the issue of kicking the National Border Patrol Council out of AFGE and the AFL-CIO. I hope they succeed.

It is abuser logic all the way down. "Don't make me hurt you" and then "See what you did?"
Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

We're horrified & outraged: Immigration agents have once again committed cold-blooded murder of a public observer who posed no threat to them.

This time, they've executed a fellow nurse, Alex Pretti. We demand justice and accountability. Abolish ICE, now! https://bit.ly/4big77u

It's always been abolish ICE.

For the first time, more Americans support abolishing ICE than oppose it. But Republicans are proposing hundreds of millions in funding for this lawless agency.

I'll oppose this bill. We cannot give more money to an agency responsible for terrorizing our communities.

“Abolish ICE” isn’t radical, it doesn’t go far enough.

@kirstengillibrand.bsky.social @schumer.senate.gov Anything less than cutting ICE's budget is complicity with the terror and mayhem that agency is sowing in Minnesota and across the country. Not another dime.

This is why I told y'all that messaging that centers training is/was a mistake. You cannot train away the mission, the racism, or the impunity. This shit just makes the violence more expensive. Also, if this is true, it's a bitch ass move by Senate Dems, and people should be harsh af about it.

I know this man does not care (and maybe enjoys toying with folks on SNAP) but parents are trying to figure out how they are going to feed their kids. The level of stress and anxiety every time some confusing new report comes out is its own form of cruelty.

Under Trump, the draconian future of homelessness policy is coming into focus: mass internment. Utah is building a 16-acre site to detain up to 1,300 homeless people inside locked "accountability centers." This is profoundly alarming.

Literally welfare reform for public housing. Clinton opened this pandora's box in 1996 and this was always where it was headed - start with cash assistance and then use work requirements and time limits to gut every inch of the safety net.
