Asking because I’m not sure what the answer is.. but, in relation to “your privilege”, unsure if you have considered this, but students may not always be thinking about that, they might be overwhelmed with excitement & hope for the future meeting you so that they can learn & advance in their careers

Do you consider the problems associated with social media itself and the harm following and unfollowing students could do as a supervisor? Or do you not even think that is something you should consider?

Yes! That’s a good point & thanks for the links. Long read technology is driving a new wave of discovery for genetic mutations. Any software like this requires an incredible amount of energy, innovation and precision in the backend

If your criteria is coding output, there are loads in the comp bio space. the folks who wrote scvi, pseudotime, kallisto, alevin fry, loompy…, alpha fold..
