The conservative rhetoric around protecting women makes more sense once you understand that victims exist purely as a hypothetical for them. Once a victim actually claims the label, they become a threat. This is also why they prefer dead women to living victims.

Pope Leo: “It is painful to see how, especially in the West, the space for genuine freedom of expression is rapidly shrinking.  At the same time, a new Orwellian-style language is developing which, ends up excluding those who do not conform to the ideologies that are fueling it.”

Arguing with victim-blamers is so maddening that I have to eventually just block and move on. The goal posts are moved endlessly, on purpose, to torment you. The victim-blamer finds new ways to dance around the fact that they just enjoy the injustice of it all. It's entertaining to them.

So, correct me if I’m wrong, but all you have to do to abduct a woman now is dress in camo, cover your face and have a gun and we have to submit or risk death? How are we supposed to know if you’re ICE or not?

I keep thinking about how a young woman DoorDash driver was charged and hauled into court for recording and posting evidence of her customer sexually harassing her, while nothing is happening to the droves of men using Grok to sexually harass women and children. The institutions are pro-perpetrator.

Dorothy Day (1980) worked tirelessly for peace and social justice and was a knock-out to boot.

She considered herself a Christian Anarchist: "One must always live in a state of permanent dissatisfaction with the Church".

Her cause for canonization began in March 2000 and remains open.

This thread. I think it's incredibly important to remember that the TERF fragility/rabidity started to take off right around the height of me too, and the main message they had was "men are inherently violent."

They targeted trans WOMEN, while at the same time excusing actual violence from cis men.
MeToo was intentionally co-opted by the type of 'feminist' that berates and abuses people for not conforming to gender, while insisting that a uterus makes a woman...

This idea that #metoo was a temporary piece of insanity that happened because America was too woke...

Fuck you. It was a temporary moment in time when people decided, for the first time, that 20 women were finally equal to one man.

Yes, I canceled my Disney+ subscription. It’s super disappointing to see them capitulate so quickly to the Not See’s demands. And I got PBS Passport and renewed my Acorn subscription instead.

Her letters show that the author turned to women after her husband’s death. It’s an important insight into intimate history – and an inspiring example
