Absolutely, and to continue ragging on Ghostbusters, the "blue collar aesthetic" is something that's always brought up about the film when three of the characters are in working class cosplay and the one actual working man is sidelined and also the only one who isn't objectively a complete twat.

That's why I love Pacific Rim to death, it's the opposite of those other stories. What happens when in the face of horror and absolute destruction, brave and competent people from across the world unite together to build something better? Something better being massive robots with rocket fists.
