I was so put off, I never went to another one

I acknowledge this but add: I squeezed in a visit to Disneyland and all the children were blond! Coming from New York, I felt I’d entered the Stepford Wives suburb

The first time I ever went to California, 1980s, I had been living in NYC 2-3 years. Oh my god the overwhelming blondness! I was only in LA briefly for work. It was actually a bit creepy. I’m just a dark-haired white person but I still remember how uncanny it was.

“Not only does this agreement sell out Ukraine and Europe for the benefit of Russia—which attacked Ukraine—it explicitly separates the U.S. from NATO, a long-time goal of Russia’s president Vladimir Putin.” —HCR, 11/21/25

I wish the Democrats would talk more—a lot more!—about how aid like SNAP is a lifeline for working families in America. Without government aid they can end up homeless and jobless so easily. Let’s say that out loud, more often.

“Trickle down” effects from tax cuts for billionaires are literally zero. Ripple effects from people NOT being evicted and NOT losing their car to repossession and NOT losing their job because they lost their car — huge.

If you give money without strings, the net benefits to society will be much greater.

The more the government puts constraints on money given out to individuals and families, the more expensive the money becomes. So they give that puny $6 a day to SNAP recipients but it costs us taxpayers like $10.

“Divisive” is a more enforceable term than “hatred,” because one person saying “it means hate and is a threat” and a second person saying “no, it doesn’t and it isn’t” (liar!) is instant evidence that the symbol is divisive.
