A youth mobility scheme would let young people live and work across Europe, while also providing a much-needed boost to the UK economy, but this government’s refusal to engage is denying young Britons the chance to seize those opportunities.

He had told the media he was jailed for "pushing" his former partner in 2006.

Court records obtained by The Times say the sentence was given because of "the serious nature of the offence”.
