GLP-1 medicines were only approved for weight in children in 2022. Puberty-blockers have been successful used for trans kids since the 1980s.
Withholding puberty-blockers causes immense & long-term harm to trans kids as my own research has shown.
Wes Streeting’s puberty-blocker ban is transphobic.

My kid (and therefore I got grandfathered in 🙃) just got a HEDS diagnosis and I'm trying to soak up all of the knowledge, esp since I have time — knee injury and non-weight bearing for now. I'm glad I'm following you!

As a Latina, I could have just cried "precious puberty" then. Should have told my child years ago!

It's embarassing to see someone with a PhD and years if experience use AI to make a presentation on something they are an expert on, and then tell you to ignore some parts of diagrams because the AI made them up and those bits are wrong.
That's embarrassing for us both.

Hmm I keep considering Spain. I hear they are welcoming of people from former colonies.

Exactly that! I came to the UK on the last of the work permits and then faced hostility every year after that in the coalition govt. Since 2016, I've been looking to leave but have no idea which country to move to. Ireland? Scotland if independent? Or try Scandinavia again even if they're racist?

Politicians don't see immigration as a two-way street, they just see it for their own political perspective. It's always portrayed as if we're doing skilled immigrants a favour by 'letting them in' when in reality the reverse true. Why would you migrate to a country that doesn't value you?

Another big factor for the UK is its slide down the income rankings.
Would-be migrants want to join a dynamic economy with the promise of high and rising wages.
The UK used to fit that bill, but Britain’s top salaries are now well down the list.

The US remains the most popular destination among educated young adults worldwide, but its lead over #2 has narrowed from 20pts to 9pts, while the UK has plummeted from a consistent #2 ranking to #7, again with a steep fall after 2016.

Anyway, I'm now day 6 post op with a meniscectomy that took 50% of the meniscus away - but at least my knee is unlocked 😞 Next op is ACL reconstruction. I have about 9-12 months to learn to walk again. I need humour to get thru!
