Et y a tellement de trucs qui n’ont aucun sens… mais où sont les scénaristes ? Ou alors le budget trop serré et rien n’est terminé peut-être... Bref oui elle sert vraiment à rien :/

I know I know ^^ I just want to say this for people outside the industry because from a player’s perspective they don’t see the reality. Same with buggy games: players blame devs but in truth deadlines are too short and features keep piling up until the end. And with the AI usage it will be worse…

My answer might be biased since I don’t know the actual circumstances but I think it should actually be appreciated. To meet deadlines I’m more used to dealing with heavy pressure from management and impossible crunch with the explanation that a release date is something that simply cannot be moved.

And at the same time, a game releasing without a day-one patch doesn’t really seem to exist anymore… ^^

Clearly, this would be a huge time saver at launch but on the other hand it reinforces the all-digital model (game as service), doesn’t it? From what I understand, you’d at least need an internet connection once to download the precompiled shader database that matches your GPU and driver.
