The US is a bit ahead of Canada in terms of moving away from dark coloured plastic and rubber surfaces and metal paint in play structures, and adding playground shade covers, in addition to looking at more holistic things like the yard space. As always, appreciate the response!

As someone whose kid will be going here, that’s great to see! Wondering if there’s any city wide or school board policies to ensure the new equipment is ready for extreme heat in the highly-paved downtown core? Recess in June ain’t what it used to be!
