We need to stop clinging so hard to parasocial relationships. We need to start treasuring the people who actually interact with us, and are willing to do so on our own terms, with integrity and respect, not just because they have talent of some kind.

I try to at least be a little light hearted about my encounters but constantly being reminded that I'm only ever going to be as "valid" as the amount of inches I have is a huge bummer.
We want to act like these things don't matter personally but it's increasingly harder to believe.
