I remember reading something by Alan Bennett about re-reading a book. Previously, he'd drawn a line next to a paragraph. The next time he read it, he spent ages rereading the section to see what was so important about it, before realising it was a hair, not a pencil mark

Had the drain company out, yet again, to clear a blockage. Told him it blocks every few months, so he agreed to put the CCTV camera down to see what was causing it.
As he showed me the footage, he said: "Look at that, clean as a whistle" & I found myself blushing slightly with a sense of pride
