About a year before I was done I met my wife. She wasn’t my wife when we met, that came later. Anyhow, she was a few months from completion and already had a job two states away. So we moved here and there to get jobs in the same place and I got the first teaching job as a trailing spouse.

Yup. It is weird. We had a dog named Zoey (she came with it) and I was thrown when I had students named Zoey. To do it actively just seems goofy.

Asked an O-chem colleague the other day how many O-chem labs are necessary since it is all white solids, clear liquids, how long to mix and at what temp.

I am same here. If my students want to do the work, I am going to let them do it. But other instructors…you best get those accommodations if you can.

I’m only a contrarian out of necessity, but the squeaky shoes….
