I think one of the things that most people missed about Biden was that he by and large kept his head down, his mouth shut and he just did the work. Now we have the opposite. Mouth constantly running and no work getting done. Except destruction.

If we can avoid using the term AI for legitimate research purposes, the con gets more difficult for dorks like Altman.

The reason I wouldn’t call it AI is that by doing so, all of the grifters get to say something like “See there is a legit use for AI”. So it sort of (to me) lets the conmen piggyback their crap on to your good use.

I hate calling this sort of thing AI. I think its a legit purpose and I know s fair few biologists who do similar work. From what I understand of their work I would describe what they do as image processing. Or something similar. And I get why they do it.

When a couple of books you had on hold at the library become available within a couple of days of each other. one taps in to your permanant low grade pessimism and the other hits your constant optimism.
Two books. One titled The End of the World As We Know It and the other is titled Radical Hope.
