Antisemitism works by positioning Jews into whatever society thinks is Most Wrong Right Now. Right now it is wrong to be white, Jews are white but with extra special sauce. When it is wrong to be Not White, Jews are The Most Not White you can possibly be.

Because of how antisemitism works and our current oppressor vs oppressed (and associated skin color) schema of who gets to be objectively right, in this model Jewish Israelis are considered European White Oppressors and Palestinian Arabs are Oppressed Brown People.

Instead of forcing all Jewish Israelis to abnegate their existence and apologize for surviving (same for Palestinians btw), we should be promoting cross narrative dialogue and work that says “no one is going anywhere, how do we live in this one tiny slice of earth without killing each other.”

What sticks here for me is that the actual focus is not on physical grotesquerie or misshapen beings, and if anything the impression is that of fundamentally anthropomorphic servants - whose presence and aspect is nonetheless of awesome and terrible scope.

My point is just that the angels who are Kinda Basic Hot Dude, Girl and/or Uncertain NB are classics that stick in the brain for a reason. Turns out most folks like Ya Basic.
(Also they likely have some overlap with Zoroastrian sacred figures because classical Judaism liked Persia.)

Yeah angels have looked normal a lot more often than they've looked like weird fever dream gold Cthulu, Biblically Accurate is the most pervasive sort of nerd meme where it comes from someone who knows just enough esoterica to think it outweighs the baseline.

Like Robert is generally a pretty cool lead no matter what, but they did a really good job making his True Hero path feel genuinely satisfying.
