Paths to Power (PtP) is out in @bjpols.bsky.social! It is a database with data on cabinet members' social profile globally from 1966-2021.

I love this interview, inspiring, yet difficult to reconcile with reality.
The incentives of our discipline are structured against patience and accountability. Unless we begin rewarding patient, careful (and often slow) work at the junior level, fewer scholars will pursue projects that require it.

Carissa (almost) single-handedly brought back theory-generating papers and changed preconceived assumptions about the linearity of democratization, religion and politics, origins of representative institutions, and so much more.
This is such a rich paper and would be a great addition to syllabi!
