That's an odd way of saying "it's gratifying to kill 80+ people without due process and outside of court scrutiny, including 'in the fog of war' without war being declared by the leaders who actually get to declare it"

One more thought: I'm not surprised Allie Beth Stuckey is feeling defensive. The idea that empathy is "toxic" or "sinful" does lead straight to taking glee out of shooting helpless civilians out of the water. Seeing anti-empathy in action makes it hard defend.
