Apocalypsr World is the oddly forgotten Pbta game. If even just for the GM section, you owe it to yourself to get it.
Here it is. The final 24 hours. You've helped coax banked embers into a steady flame. Tell me, what is one thing you'll bring with you into What-Comes-Next? Seeds? Thread? A good kitchen knife? What will you make of what's left? Together, let's light up the world.

I forget how many folks didn't get to play In A Wicked Age, Poison'd, Under My Skin, 1001 Nights, Sorcerer, Shock, and so many other excellent games with sensuality & sexual content before AW.
ttrpg design evolution has been weird, it's like 40 years of calculating armour values with logarithmic equations, and then in 2010 vincent baker gave everyone permission to fuck

As a cook, I have a remarkable disdain for Lopez-Alt's Food Lab. His science is remedial at best, and his "take my wife, PLEASE" tone is so aggressive that I knew he was divorced without looking.

...but his scrambled eggs recipe has fed me like six times in the past month.

My space heroics PbtA game The Shining Void is now Print-on-Demand! Inspired by Mass Effect, Firefly, and GotG, among others, it prioritizes diversity of form and culture, contextual authority (rather than objective hierarchy), and complex team dynamics.

I LOVE starship design, big passion of mine. Offhand, I think I'd say Stargate's ships are particularly remarkable in my memory. The Replicator cruisers comes to mind first. The Odyssey is a little conventional, not unlike the Galactica, but I love its flat and profile.
What’s your favorite film or TV sci fi spacecraft, purely from a visuals & aesthetic perspective, that’s not from Star Wars or Trek? Mine might be the Cygnus from The Black Hole.

Making Thanksgiving fun for just me and my partner has always been an activity and opportunity to try some stuff out. Feeling pretty happy with my attempts this year.
Arfid in the house adds personalized challenges, but with care and caution, even a food holiday can be special.

My experience with piracy is if someone who was never going to pay for my work turns into a fan that is worth more financially than what I’d lose from that first transaction

I'm happy to say that I've completed Hegemony, the first postgame Region, for Under Forgotten Stars! Five activities, two lore files, three Dangerous Events, and lots of general lore stuff that bolsters the Expanded Edition content. Really happy with it.

Sometimes -- not often, but sometimes -- writing a postgame room for a solo exploration ttrpg involves designing a crossword puzzle whose clues and answers are the lore you've encountered over the course of your adventures

Self-indulgent? Why yes! Fun and interesting? Also yes!

I just released SLUG MODE, my first Mothership pamphlet scenario! It expands on Slug, a psychedelic drug whose users all inhabit a shared virtual space while high - my favorite weird little plot hook from A Pound of Flesh.

Okay, I've finished a third of Hegemony now for Under Forgotten Stars, including designing two puzzles and writing both of the Region's Data Files, which are the lore-heaviest prose. Frankly, the rest should be dramatically easier than those. Fortunately, I love what I wrote for them.

In general over the past couple years I've been really celebrating and embracing anticanon, playing with mid-series reinterpretation, and rejecting the past as a limiter on the potential of the future.
This James Bond bullshit source thing is such a strong underscore to that approach.

With the website redesign, I made Vibroblades In The Dark free to the public, rather than hidden in the Patreon Archive!

I made it for a couple friends initially, but it's a simple and sharp Blades reskin for cyberpunk with a few really interesting playbooks.

Okay setting rules for myself: Im not allowed to do re-layout on The Quiet Tower until I finish writing the Hegemony Region for Under Forgotten Stars. I don't get to relay Blood/Lust until I finish all the Regions, leaving just the various Depths.

If I don't do this I'll get distracted very quickly

It feels disproportionate that a single rating/review of "good" by pinpanar9 can feel quite this validating and encouraging, but it does. They really are the backbone of itch rpg reviewing

Went ahead and put a bunch of my most popular work - including my Mothership class, my sci-fi gig economy solo RPG (and its Online-focused expansion!), and my cyberpunk microgame trilogy - on sale through the end of November!

It's ready and released! My website is fully updated, visually and content-wise. My Itch pages are refreshed too, my DTRPG is up to speed, my Patreon is updated, and also I released The Shining Void publicly (it was kinda supposed to be a while ago).

It's the most back burner project I have, and I'm not nearly ready to try to develop it to the extent I dream of, but one day I WILL be able to write Copper Ganglia.

I keep reaching the point of actually manifesting my dream projects, so I KNOW I will manage this one. One day.

Website update going great. I'm now pivoting my attention to updating my Itch game pages to be up-to-date and compatible with the website, so if you get updates on my stuff it's mostly cosmetic. Though The Shining Void WILL be releasing for the first time on Itch in the process, that one'll be new.

Also: DAMN my website redesign is looking good. It's not live yet but it's getting close.

Nothing sparks my Remastering urge quite like needing to take screenshots of my various games to advertise them on my site. Many of them are older and smaller, and I've really refined my layout approach in the last couple years, but I probably don't really have the time or energy to remaster em all.

FINALLY.

It's gonna be a minute until you see it but at long last I've wrestled with the custom CSS injection on Squarespace until it did what I wanted, I've been trying to get this right for years.

THIS is the thing that will actually get my site to look the way I've always wanted it to.
October 31, 2025 at 12:07 AM
If anyone trips over something weird happening on my website, I'm mucking around on the back end prepping some redesigns. If it gets in the way of actually doing what you wanted somehow plz reach out and I'll get it fixed
