Wait, this is REAL?!

Also, the EU decided a couple of years ago to phase out daylight saving time, but because member states can't agree, I'm still coming home in the dark at 16.30...

The EU is talking about doing this now. Given that kids here see school uniforms as an outrageous imposition on their freedom of expression, and cigarette advertising hasn't been banned because people have a right to smoke and companies have a right to advertise their products, I doubt it will fly.

A jaunty little fascinator. Would birds wear feathers? If not maybe some silk flowers or netting?

Then give people adequate paid parental leave so they don't have to dash back to work six weeks post partum!!!

Why the heck is this on the Whitehouse website when they're no longer giving information about, say, job numbers, health data etc? This government is not fit for purpose.

A2: Lady Macbeth. Macbeth's reaction is interesting but I find Lady Macbeth's response incredible. Exultant, impatient.

A1: it's heinous. He had never thought of being king until the witches put it out there, because he knew the natural order of things would be for Duncan's sons to inherit (not that I approve of hereditary monarchy but that's beside the point). To murder a guest while he was asleep? Wrong.

Do it!! Sounds like a great investment.

I taught my youngest class about the "magic E" and they got it. We're working on present continuous and they got that, too 😁

My shy 11th graders have started talking more.

My Baccalaureate class continues to be a delight.

My tenth graders are so stressed at the moment because they had their chemistry and L1 tests this week, so I had them make visual chapter summaries of Animal Farm. They worked so beautifully together and produced some fantastic posters. They were a lot more relaxed when they walked out!

Isn't it great?

My condolences. Thank you for sharing your memories of her. Best wishes to you and your family.

My parents had their fridge for decades - maybe 35 years? Similar timeframe for the washing machine. They were still functioning but the government started a voucher scheme to swap out old, less energy efficient appliances for new ones. Both new appliances only lasted about five years.

Our allegedly smart washing machine is so stupid. There are no actual buttons or dials, just a touch screen, and if it decides to malfunction (which it does alarmingly regularly for a machine that is barely past its warranty period) we have to unplug it, wait, and plug it back in. I hate it.

You lasted pretty well!

This is not normal behaviour.

I very much appreciate the reminder and will be heading to the supermarket in my free lesson today!!

My first boyfriend DJd for a weekend shift at a community radio station. He made an entire show of our favourite music and recorded it for me 😁
