No apology necessary, but thanks. I hope Pete can get back to what I believe is his strength, which is speaking clearly and authoritatively and standing up for what's good, rather than trying to be what he thinks people want. The young man Talarico from Texas is doing a great job in that regard.

I do wish people would talk about efficiency in terms of something other than which cuts to make. No one ever seems to want to talk about how it could be more efficient to spend money rather than withhold it, or to add some slack so that your workers aren't stressed out all the time.

Yes, it's an onslaught of stuff to keep up with. This subject is particularly on our radar, as we are feds. The thing is, I really admired Pete as a potential presidential candidate but I feel like he is not quite understanding this moment.

Pete has said a version of this several times now, which is why I must conclude he is thinking about creating another DOGE to go after "waste and abuse" but "in the right way." Does Pete also think some federal employees are parasites? Now i have wonder. We get that already from Republicans. 😰

Pete is saying that DOGE as a concept is good, but it was poorly executed. But it’s all bullshit. Federal employees do an amazing job and are already ultra-efficient and it’s bullshit to say otherwise. It’s very disappointing for him to grant that the premise was a good one. Astonishingly stupid.

What we actually need is for the Democratic party to defend the civil service, not attack it. Very disappointing to hear this kind of thing from Pete.

As a family with several federal employees, this rhetoric from Pete is extremely hurtful. There was very little waste or abuse, our government was run carefully and efficiently already. DOGE completey destroyed many agency functions. We are demoralized and don't need Pete to pile on.

Also I'm sure there's a specific legal reason for this construction but saying that somebody's "misuse" of ChatGPT contributed to their suicide is an admission that using ChatGPT contributed to the suicide!

I don't live in Ohio, but am one of your biggest fans. Our industry is so under appreciated and overlooked. It's a vital public service with a complexity that few understand. You do a PHENOMENAL job educating the public while making us laugh. BRAVO.
