I never saw the point in buying this death certificate as I knew what happened to Richard. But I got it, so it's part of the records.

Just been researching my 2nd cousin 2x removed George Towns.

The words "this aircraft failed to return" seem to hit differently 😔

This story is about a 1st cousin 3x removed. The girl had lost her mother in 1923. This was in 1926.
She may have been mentally dull due to the fact she had lost her mother.

Just came across a death plaque on Ebay for a Thomas Swain.

My Great-Uncle Thomas/Tom Swain 6990 died in 1914.

£75 is just too much for me, unfortunately

Would you say a man who took in and brought up 2 off his daughters illegitimate children, one of whom he has down as his own son, children of 1 his dead daughters is right to be thought of as a strict man that people wanted to run away from? Or did he just lose too many ppl and wanted people safe?

What is the best way to scan or take decent photos of CDV's or cabinet cards? Like this example, some just do not turn out right at all.

Just found my 4th Great Grandfather in the 1841, he is 45, which means a birth year around 1796, which also means at his first marriage in 1816 he was only about 20, so that could indicate why it states it was with the consent of guardian, With my 4th Great Grandmother being 32.

I am waiting on so many orders from ebay. My collection of carte de visite from various Grantham photographers is growing nicely. I now need to decide what to do with them.

Hello #ancestryhour I have started digging into my wife's family history and its a big old puzzle. A letter from a sister telling the other that there mum had died. Wouldn't have been her birth mum as she died in 1910 and the letter states she is courting her soon to be husband, they married in 1929

I have just been given permission by my mother in law to research her family line. Her grandmother seems to have been in a Dr Bananado's home. How easy is it or hard? Are these to research?

I feel like I need to learn about religion and the different Christian denominations. My 4th Great Grandfather was the president of the Wesleyan Chapel in Grantham.

A great day out yesterday in York with wife and two girls

Whilst looking through a recent Grantham Bygone book, I came across this image.

It is an image from 1915-1916 when women took jobs at the local station due to the ongoing war.

These are railway engine cleaners, and one could well be my Grand Aunt Louisa Maud Swain.

When you start looking deeper into your family and you see your 4x Great Grandfather is a Wesleyan minister and his granddaughter gets married when 3 months pregnant in a Baptist chapel. I wonder if this may have caused drama 🤔

I have not done research recently due to costs. But today, I found myself down the rabbit hole of crew lists for Mabel Smith. It seems she joined Cunard in 1937 with the last entry in 1949. #genealogy #crewlists #cunard
