Gee wouldn't it be weird if we got into a pointless war every time a republican president was embattled and unpopular?

CW: Age-related violence

This album’s release date is closer to Glenn Miller’s “In the Mood” than to today.

Hmm. It’s really *interesting * that ICE are behaving similarly to the people who terrorized the twin cities during the George Floyd uprisings. Wonder what that’s about

Building good transit requires building good systems to deliver it - planned networks; ridership models; engineered standards and cost/benefit analyses.

The problem is precisely that we require each locality to reinvent what should be a well-understood wheel, discarding learning after each project.

This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

Someone recently referred to my parents’ house—the house where I grew up & where my parents lived for 52 years—as a “starter home.” What internalized neoliberal bullshit! How TF has “home” become something that has to grow like an index fund? It’s your fucking home.

Disney paid OpenAI $1 billon. I guess this means OpenAI had no way to make the character art available for Disney to use without adding it to the whole Sora data pile. Expect Sora-generated work from Disney. Disney clearly thinks they'll save more than $1 billion on animation. Bye bye animators.
So... nearly 100 years of aggressive copyright protection lawsuits against anyone who drew pictures of Mickey were just... for kicks and giggles? A computer program with no soul can do it & they'll just say "sure, what the heck"?

Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

WOW. So this is obviously a huge violation of this man's rights, and it illustrates a few things we're seeing broadly:

- DHS officers are ignoring peoples' IDs and instead requiring screening through their own systems
- Confirms @404media.co's reports of use of DHS's facial recognition app.

Remember that Trump and his propagandists tried to gaslight you into believing there was no percentage in taking on this fight, that it was hopeless. And a certain cadre of pundits tried to persuade you that Dems didn't dare discuss this in public.

Still not over yet but a big step forward.
HUGE. Judge Xinis grants the writ of habeas corpus and orders that the government "SHALL release [Kilmar] Abrego Garcia from ICE custody immediately."

The MA Dems in super-safe seats voting yes to give Trump a massive military budget really give away the game

Clark, Moulton, Neal & Trahan are not playing 3D political chess to save their seats

They’re cowards who don’t belong in Congress
The House just voted for a bloated $900B Pentagon budget despite the fact that the Pentagon can't even pass an audit and despite the fact that Trump is getting ready for a war on Venezuela and despite the fact that so many people are about to lose health care.

Here are the 115 Dem YES votes.

Hahahahahaha... colleges and universities have spent the last several decades showering more and more $$$$ on VP, dean, and deanlet positions that undermine faculty representation & replace full time faculty with powerless adjuncts. Blame the fucking VP's calling the shots.
Yes we all agree that this is the reason colleges are in trouble

The stupidity of right-wingers when they think they've won. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There's a post over on Twitter that I've been laughing to myself about. Some right-wing guy is celebrating that a school took down "All-Gender" bathroom signs and replaced them with "Single Occupancy Restroom" signs. And like... it's the same thing, man. You're celebrating a pointless relabeling.
