I love the nature we have all around us in Kansas City, including the miles of riverfront and forest we have within city limits. I spent three hours on the Missouri this weekend to see what we do right and where we can do better to enhance recreational access to the river.

In Ottawa I always walk along the locks of the Rideau Canal. They are the perfect tourist spot.
We forget they were built to protect Canadian shipping from the threat of American invasion.
A lot of people died building the canal. It was built to keep us independent.
