The Comics Journal let me write about losing my right eye, my farewell to 3D comics.

Wrote about my old band The Stapler, Jack Kirby, @allredmd.bsky.social & more. Been reading TCJ since I was a kid so I’m honored to have them accept my work.

My last note about 28 Years Later and Bone Temple is that Ralph Fiennes can do anything. What an actor. Handsome and charismatic enough to anchor a movie like Quiz Show, doesn't mind doing a 10 minute cameo in things like Hurt Locker and stealing the show, and is absolutely fearless about his body.

A wonderful profile of the late, great Norm Breyfogle by @leekeeler.bsky.social - an artist who deserves more acclaim and remains underrated. But he's definitely on my Batman artistic Mount Rushmore. littlevillagemag.com/peak-iowa-no...
Born to draw Batman, Iowa City kid Norm Breyfogle sketched his way into pop culture history - Little Village

I helped dad clean out his storage space last summer and found this piece of paper. My grandpa had his own small town grocery store back in the day. I got this thing scanned, cleaned and printed for every member of the Keeler family for the holidays. Not a lot of families have their own paper.

my favorite thing about the benoit blanc movies is that they aren't really about benoit blanc. he is not grappling with demons from his past. we are not getting flashbacks to the husband whose murder he never solved. he just shows up and does his job like mary poppins for homicides

Rest in Power Steve Cropper.

I used to spin soul and funk music for a decade, and Melting Pot was in my crate every time.

If you sit down to look at everything he wrote and the impact that it made, your head will start to spin. His sound is a deep thread in the tapestry of modern music.

Little Village let me write about my favorite Batman artist, Norm Breyfogle. He created a bunch of solid characters and his work holds up to this day.

Breyfogle was born in Iowa City so this is part of LV’s Peak Iowa issue that hits stands tomorrow 🌽

I once saw a screening of My Own Private Idaho with a Q & A w/ Udo Kier and Gus Van Sant about 8 yrs ago. Udo completely eclipsed GVS w/ his acerbic wit and charming stories. My man was in the OG Suspiria. Goodbye to a legend 👑
