I'd not heard of Lepa Radić before today - this is the most badass thing I've seen in a long time. She was only 17 at the time of her execution.

A lot of Starblazer feels like diet 2000AD (in the same way Commando felt like vegetarian BATTLE) but the Alcatena-drawn issues are another level altogether...

Starhawk got about a bit, from Crunch to Hotspur (via merger), and then Starblazer, Victor, Spike and Buddy (as ‘Young Starhawk’)

STARBLAZER was DCT's response to Star Wars/2000AD, but in retrospect there is a notable gap for an SF weekly anthology there - perhaps one built around CRUNCH's space hero Starhawk
His ship looked remarkably like the Millennium Falcon too. Though he was a much straighter hero - James Bond in space

Some more. Looking at these it seems like someone missed a trick not getting him to draw a Nemesis The Warlock arc - but I guess Alcatena was a DC Thomson guy at the time...

Agreed. A floating heads "dramatis personae" on the splash page was super helpful to me back when I first started reading comics. As was the synopsis banner that used to be at the top of the page

Picked up two of the new COMMANDO comics. One with new art by Mike Dorey; and a reprint by Victor de la Fuente. Fantastic.
