Our response to geopolitical security crisis - more 🇪🇺 unity.

Unity starts with collective leadership to discuss most important defence issues.

We need to discuss setting up European Security Council, first proposed by President Macron & Chancellor Merkel

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has said that an attack on Greenland would end NATO. This is not an exaggeration.
US intentions towards Greenland threaten NATO’s future. But European countries are not helpless
US threats to annex Greenland following the attack on Venezuela should be taken seriously. European countries have important leverage they should be prepared to use.

Agree, the threat of retaliation has to be both more personal to Trump - he's done in Europe - and also economic (trade deal dead, massive retaliation vs. US tech/stock market).
These comments -- "Danish prime minister says a US takeover of Greenland would mark the end of NATO" -- are getting a lot of press... but, given the politics of DC today, I doubt they form the deterrent Danish leaders hope for. DNK needs a different line of argument. www.npr.org/2026/01/06/n...

Under US law, the president has no authority to unilaterally order military action v. Canada, Greenland, or anyone else unless responding to an actual or imminent attack. Outside of this emergency scenario, unilateral presidential action is unconstitutional. everything trump muses about is illegal
WELKER: Would you rule out military force to take Canada?

TRUMP: I think we're not gonna ever get to that point. Something could happen with Greenland. I'll be honest. With need that for national and international security.
