We are urging the government to publicly call out this dangerous and deceiving narrative. Find the statement produced by @evawuk.bsky.social, Hibiscus, @sbsisters.bsky.social and @4refugeewomen.bsky.social against the weaponisation of VAWG here: buff.ly/SfjRCiO #NotInOurName

Far-right groups conveniently leave out of the narrative that most gender-based violence is committed by someone known to the survivor, and that structural inequalities and lack of support drive harm, not immigration status. (3/4) #16DaysOfActivism #NotInOurName

Instead of addressing the real causes of gender-based violence, blame is shifted onto migrants—silencing survivors and leaving them even more vulnerable. Safety must be for all women, not a political tool. (2/4) #16DaysOfActivism #NotInOurName

Politicians claim to protect women, but their words and policies harm the most marginalised and create further hate and division towards these communities. We’re raising our voices to say #NotInOurName. You can read the full statement here: buff.ly/SfjRCiO (4/4) #16DaysOfActivism #MigrantJustice

The fact is, 6 in 7 rapes against women are carried out by someone they know and 1 in 3 adult survivors of rape experience it in their own home. When women’s safety is weaponised and used to justify racism, no one is safe, we all lose. (3/4) #16DaysOfActivism #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #MigrantJustice

These policies are supported and often rooted in racism and far-right rhetoric, framing migrant communities as a threat rather than centering their experiences. We must challenge these narratives and demand safety, dignity, and justice for all. (3/4) #16DaysOfActivism

We’re extremely grateful to the speakers who highlighted the negative impact that these policies will have on Black, minoritised and migrant communities, in particular women victims of VAWG & modern slavery. (2/2) #16Days #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #MigrantJustice
