Folks like Michael Jordan, Lebron James, and Tom Brady, can take you into their trophy room and tell you the story of how they earned everyone one them. Trump can take you into his trophy room, and tell you the story of how someone else earned everyone one of then..

Of all the US Citizens who should feel the greater shame right now, it isn't those who voted for Trump. It is those who did not vote at all. They were just as responsible, but believe they can deny it.

Call it what it is. Door to door concentration camp round ups. You know when the full record comes to light there *will* be horrifying degrees of intentional genocide of non-whites in ICE facilities due if nothing else to over crowding. It is happening.

Does Trump understand that the "insurrection Act" is a law thats intended to stop an insurrection? Because he seems to think he can use it to create his own insurrection.

So, here's a positive thing - Trump can't enforce martial law in this country. There are, quite literally, not enough troops to do this. There at over 19,000 cities and towns in America. To successfully occupy them under martial law, you would have to have over 5.2 millions servicemembers.

ICE agents ate at El Tapatio in Willmar, MN, then came back hours later and detained the workers who served them. Turning a meal into surveillance isn’t public safety it’s intimidation. Remember private businesses can refuse service to ICE agents!
ICE agents eat at small-town Mexican restaurant — then detain workers
“Would your mama be proud of you right now?” a bystander said as agents returned at closing time to nab the workers.

Pres. can invoke the Insurrection Act

-- at the request of a governor (as Bush Sr. did at the request of Gov. Wilson in 1992 for Rodney King riots in LA)

-- to enforce federal court orders (Eisenhower and Kennedy: desegregation orders)

Walz won't request, and courts won't order

Minnesota: Trump is threatening the Insurrection Act over Minneapolis protests after the ICE shooting.
If masked federal agents can operate without visible ID or bodycams, what’s the limit, and who enforces it.
Next move: redefine dissent as “insurrection,” then normalize force at home.

One of the reasons it is really important to push back hard on the investigations against people telling the military not to follow illegal orders is because when he invokes the Insurrection Act he is presumably going to be ordering the military to do illegal things and we want people to speak out.

For the majority of America’s history, ICE did not exist. For as obsessed with Republicans are with going into the past, that’s one area that we actually need to revert back to the old ways. Immigration being defined as a security issue is unnecessary.

Immigrants pay taxes.

Immigrants contribute over $2 trillion to the U.S. economy.

The problem isn't immigrants.
