Cllr Toby Hewitt of the Bolton Conservatives recently dismissed efforts to tackle climate change as a “socialist ideology of the Left.”

Bolton is already experiencing the consequences of a warming climate and extreme weather.

Nigel Farage currently railing against Parliament being full of "professional politicians".

He founded UKIP in 1993 and was first elected as an MEP in 1999, twenty-six years ago. Less than 5% of current MPs (31 to be precise) have a longer career in politics than Farage. ~AA

Why did the BBC broadcast Nigel Farage uninterrupted for 56 minutes this morning?

Nobody wants this, he has 4 seats, does any other party gets this coverage?

The biased people at the BBC putting Nigel Farage on day after day need to be removed.

I was quite surprised to see it. I imagine it's performative Christianity as an act of aggression against Islam, and perhaps to appease some American Christian nationalist donors. I wonder how many of them actually attend church 🙄
Apparently they recited the Lords prayer.....if thats Christianity ....forget it

I'm not American and I knew nothing about Mr Kirk before he was killed, so I refrain from posting on the US aspects of his death.

OTOH I know Boris Johnson and I am concerned about UK politics.

If this is the type of "free speech" that Johnson and the UK right wants to defend, I am appalled.

When access to guns is lax all are vulnerable.
If you're a controversial shitstirrer, left or right, you're even more vulnerable.
If you have openly advocated access to guns for all, there is a certain sick irony if you're shot dead.
Acknowledging the irony is not enjoying Kirk's death.
The reverse.

I can hold the dialectic that Charlie Kirk’s rhetoric was horrific and dangerous, and I also don’t want to live in a country where speakers at universities get shot in the neck.

We've all experienced having to stand in a packed train while first class sits completely empty. It makes no sense to divide up our trains like this.

Our railways should be welcoming, inclusive and accessible to all.

It's time to scrap first class and return those seats to use.

Asylum claimants who have already been rejected by an EU country, are no longer automatically barred from the UK since Brexit.

Opposition to a #WealthTax— brought to you by those who think workers' rights have "gotten ridiculous."

What's ridiculous is the idea that someone with £15million would leave the country over £100k.

That's 0.67% of their wealth, equivalent to £300 if you had £50k. They wouldn't even notice it.
