Knowing the healthcare your child needs, but not being able to give them access until a judge (who your family has never met) says ok… it’s a different kind of hell. And yet, it’s still only privileged families who can navigate legal systems on behalf of their kiddos!

The Qld govt has prohibited their trans youth from accessing necessary healthcare through the public system because of bigotry.

Australian law says that any religious education facility can expel any student simply for being LGBTIQA+. With SM ban these students without caregiver, school, and online support…. What will they envisage for their future? How will they thrive?

I’m a parent. My kiddo is trans. They came out to my husband and I a decade ago. We supported them and affirmed them.

They’re thriving now. Mid-20s. No regrets in our family at all, other than I wish they had the words to express who they were when they were much younger.
