What fresh copilot ai hell is being once again foist upon us? all of the settings in MS Word Advanced that apply at a file level, apparently default to [the obnoxiously truthfully named? ] "AI Agent AI Spy.docx".

This is exhausting.

Watching The American Revolution and it’s fascinating. So far, both the English army and the us militia under Washington seem like keystone cops. (How didn’t Washington get fired? He seems to have misjudged every major move of the oppo.)

I want to drive a dump truck of cow manure to the Microsoft headquarters and drop it off in the lobby as a thank you.

They didn't ask for it, they didn't want it, but maybe they can figure out how to get rid of it.
Is there a way to get this mind-numbing Co-Pilot shit off Microsoft Word?

I mean, is he serious? He can’t seriously believe in his glorified word salad spinner, can he? for me, the most troubling thought is that he actually believes in the quality of the extrusion machine, that he isn’t just a snake oil huckster.

But talking about “risk” is a trap. It’s an on-ramp to incrementalism. bsky.app/profile/sonj...
As Langdon Winner put so well 40 years ago, don't fall into the trap of accepting "RISK" as a good framework for these conversations. Business interests love framing their violence in terms of "risks & rewards" bc as a society, we love to heroize & reward risk-takers. Talk instead about "HAZARD."

Many journalists are tracking the procurement and deployment of new technologies and tactics, but it's hard to get the entire picture. A generational threat to civil liberties that I suspect future governments will struggle (or refuse) to roll back. Dramatic reform/abolition will be required.
The news has entirely failed to grasp the unprecedented scope of the ICE and DHS budgets. Nothing like it in modern history. A galaxy of public/private surveillance and caging institutions for $100,000,000,000s unleashed on a public that will be forever changed. www.brennancenter.org/our-work/res...

But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that
