Done! This was my game face at 5 min ‘til go time for the church’s big Christmas musical program with choir, children’s choir, 2 vocal ensembles, orchestra, piano and organ (me.) It went very well, esp considering that we never did a straight-through dress rehearsal.

This is my favorite time of the year in the piano studio - Christmas recital is done, and we can focus on something other than performance. My students are writing their own compositions about Christmas gifts using antecedent and consequent phrases.

The tree is up! We make no effort to follow a theme or even place ornaments very carefully. We just enjoy all the memories and put them up wherever we can get them to fit. We have lots of vintage ornaments.

We had her DNA analyzed. 52% GSD, the rest is labrador, pit bull, boxer, and Australian shepherd. She is the most velcro of all the velcro dogs I’ve had.

Looking at a cookbook my aunt brought over and marveling to remember that recipe directions used to be just a few sentences. Now, if I want to print a recipe from the internet, it takes 3 sheets of printer paper.

I made a turkey breast with herb butter, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans almondine, roasted balsamic root vegetables, and homemade cranberry sauce. Store-bought rolls. There’s pumpkin spice cake and a chocolate cake for dessert. Only 3 of us this year, but we are 3 thankful people.

Fragrance diary: Last night, I wore my sample of YSL Libre to a friendsgiving. It’s one of 2 florals I’ve found I like. Seems to have mass appeal which is good ‘cause it’s a bit strong. It’s a little sweeter/heavier than I’d want in warm weather, but I’d get a travel size for sure. Score of 9.

We’ve changed vets recently because the previous one retired, and I’m loving this place. They ask you to stay in the car and call to say you’ve arrived, then they call when there’s an exam room ready. Kia’s getting her yearly.
