Still one of life's great mysteries
Pinned
Pencil drawing of Kit Connor with his dog Basil.

Or Basil with his human Kit Connor, if you prefer...
This is actually part cool/part burden for me. I recognise people ALL the time. I may not remember your name - in fact I may forget it several times over - but if we've met or I've seen you before my brain will remember you forever and bip like an alarm the moment I see you again, famous or not.
I do not understand people who recognize celebrities or even people they know in public

one time I thought I might have seen George R. R. Martin on a plane, but like, it was just a guy with an enormous white beard

i have no idea what people who understand faces notice in them

Recently picked up an original collection of The New Deadwardians comics, the pre-Brink collaboration between Dan Abnett and @injculbard.bsky.social, which I just happened to finish reading the other night. Very much enjoyed it and certainly worth checking out if you're a fan of Brink.

Jack Thorne - one of the writers of the upcoming four Beatles biopic films - on The One Show saying he can't say anything about what's happening with the films or he "would be shot."

Erm...who wants to tell him?

I'm sorry, but the reaction to Brianna Ghey being murdered by people she knew offline *because she was transgender* becoming 'we should stop teenagers from being on social media' rather than 'we should deal with the recent horrifying rise of transphobia in the UK' is unbelievably fucking bullshit.

A little while ago I did a little facing up of some stock on the shop floor.

It's not the shop I work in. I'm not even working today.

Pure eye to hand impulse.

Tassel epaulettes plonked on a t-shirt.

Not saying Jonathan Anderson is just taking the money at Dior but it sure feels like it.

The flag fits the US part but not the Canada and Greenland areas. From a graphics perspective it's like it hasn't been thought through at all.

Gosh, if they're not good at planning a piece a graphic design how bad are they at other important stuff like global diplomacy and military strategy.

Oh.

Would those members of the US armed forces consider going but on arrival switch their allegiance to Greenland? Fight alongside the Danish army and therefore become a defence force rather than an attacking one?
It’s come to this: “Catholic members of the US armed forces could in good conscience consider disobeying orders to attack Greenland if such orders were issued, according to Archbishop Timothy Broglio, the bishop responsible for the pastoral care of US military personnel.”
Military archbishop: Troops could refuse orders on Greenland
Speaking to Britain's Sunday program on BBC, Archbishop Timothy Broglio reiterated that conscience could permit refusal of an unjust military order.

As a Brit living in Sweden (and always perplexed by the reverence shown to the NP) I keep circling back to the point that the prizes only exist because Nobel was an *arms dealer* and did not want later generations to *remember* that he was an arms dealer.
The Nobel Peace Prize becoming so prestigious that wars are fought over a head of state coveting it is some real monkey paw stuff for Alfred Nobel.

A clip has been posted of One Of Us from director Stefan Van De Graaff over on Instagram. It features Kit Connor as Youngest talking with his Grandfather. Filmed in 2023, it looks like it will finally see a release some time this year...

I was able to fit in a screening of Labyrinth on the way to work yesterday. Hadn't planned to but spotted the @princecharlescinema.com showing finished at the ideal time so took an early detour. Naturally had Magic Dance as my earworm for the rest of the day.

Anyone who created or shared AI images of Kit Connor that removed his clothes from original photos just know that you contributed to the current use of AI removing clothes and sexualising women and children by Grok. You're not innocent of it, you're part of the problem.
If you knowingly create an ai image of Kit Connor you are a moron. If you knowingly share an ai image of Kit Connor you are a moron. If you pretend not to know it's an ai image of Kit Connor you are a moron. If you don't think any of these things make you a moron you are a double moron.

I once got off the train at Russell Square Station convinced I was at Leicester Square Station. Though surprised by the lift - even saying to myself, "I don't remember there being a lift," - it wasn't until I stepped out I realised where I actually was.

Enjoyed the walk to work from there anyway.
