for @zzyzx.bsky.social and anyone else who may be in Baltimore over the next month, there are some excellent exhibitions rn at the free Walters Art Museum in Mount Vernon, including a whimsical exhibition on cats in medieval illuminated manuscripts and another showing Ancient Egyptian animal mummies
Paws on Parchment
This paws-itively adorable exhibition explores how medieval people thought about, engaged with, and admired cats in books from the period.

You are ABSOLUTELY NOT going to regret listening to this bird:
A male rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) in winter plumage.

Ptarmigan is from Gaelic 'tarmachan' meaning "croaker". The p- was added when people mistakenly assumed it was a Greek word.

A bird forever warning people: "A werewolf!" (just in case of werewolves).

an adaptation of one of the great SF novels of all time, WAY STATION, by Clifford D. Simak. but i wouldn't give it to Hollywood. i'd give it to one of my favorite anime studios -- Madhouse or Science Saru, since they'd probably do it justice
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.
