I've often wondered why small newspapers don't do this. Like no, Albuquerque Times, I am not going to subscribe to your newspaper to read one viral online article. But yes, I would be willing to pay $1 or something.

I seriously doubt that Mamdani is going to lose any sleep over this. Even if he feels a burning YIMBY zeal about Elizabeth Street Garden (a big if!), nobody's going to yell at him for moving on. Future residents don't get a vote.
