Denmark. Brexit as seen from the EU side of the channel.

PS:

Some say that this weakens Europe.

I agree

The UK has weakened Europe with Brexit, and it still is doing that. I hope that UK one day stops with its damaging behavior.

Our money should be made to work within the EU.

We need the capabilities, we need the jobs, we need the tax base.

Involving the UK should be a last resort only.

What should happen?

- The EU should of course keep UK out if they don’t pay in. Why give EU taxpayer money to UK?

- The UK should Rejoin the EU, and until that time it should accept that it cannot have nice things.

No excuse he is a traitor to our country , slagging off our Country in USA. Worked on Russian radio . A supporter of Putin and Trump, has never condemned Russia as an MEP and MP.He is a dangerous man .

He's constantly touted as a man of the people, the Russian people, as it turns out.

…but it does help…being desperate rarely doesn’t.

The US only have allies among despots and authoritarian regimes.

It will be long negotiations in which the UK will in the end give into or the status quo remains.

It doesn’t really make any sense to start the negotiations yet as there is no consensus in the UK. In 2029 the UK is likely to have a government that will run away from everything agreed to.
November 22, 2025 at 8:28 PM
The EU would have no need to give into any demands from the UK when it comes to exemptions.

The UK is desperate. The EU knows that the UK is desperate.

There is not that much from the UK which the EU actually needs.

We should keep them at arm’s length for the time being.
November 22, 2025 at 8:15 PM
Also there is no consensus in the UK.

70%+ of the votes went to hard Brexit parties in the 2024 GE.

The far right routinely gets 45-50% in polls and they would run away from any deal made.

The UK isn’t a trustworthy and reliable partner these days.
November 22, 2025 at 8:15 PM
Indeed. We have something they want/need.

They can always stay where they are. Not a problem for the EU.

We should be hesitant to allow them any closer though…their reputation for honouring what they sign up to is not the best.

Obviously deeper access to the single market has a price tag attached. That’s how participation works. What’s “news” is the shift from theory to formal expectation: real numbers, real sectors, real politics. Brexit rhetoric meets practical reality.

The USA is not even a part of the free world anymore.

They are becoming one of the greatest threats against the free world.

It will become impossible to be pro EU and pro Labour.

Their 2024 manifesto should already have made it so but to many were distracted by the GTTO mantra.

He has been a known quantity for decades and the US electorate still elected him twice.

A democracy cannot survive that level of ignorance…not that the US was ever a modern day democracy.

Yesh, remember the tax returns? Wha happened? Distractions, distractions.....

They are a distraction.

Giving people hope that it might actually matter while Trump/GOP/MAGA uses the time to dismantle the last remnants of US democracy.
