Libraries rule. On a smaller scale, when I was in high school my ma thought that Poe would be too scary for me. Crept off to the Lincoln (Mass) public library and borrowed his complete works. Read them undercover. Also borrowed Les Miserables and A Tale of two Cities. Long live libraries.

A DK parallel: my daughter for 3 years (ages 14-16) was a pony show jumper. I was her driver, the guy that fed and watered, found out where to stay and do all the paperwork. I got to visit places I didn't know existed and eat pizza with béarnaise....

I've received an 'exclusive' invite to try Nature's new 'research assistant', which will burn down a forest to provide a 'summary of the paper' I'm reading and I have SUCH exciting news for them, that's called an 'abstract' and the actual authors already wrote it for me, no forest-burning required.

Diagnosed in 2022 with t3a prostate cancer, curative intended. The first idiot doctor said "yeah, anti-testosterone treatment, you can lose muscle mass and gain maybe 8kg."
I said fckoff, workout (2x tabata, 2x calisthenics, 1x cardio/week). Lost 4 kg, best shape of my life.
