Commodore MAX. The other effort to use the VIC-II/SID chip combo. Made by Commodore Japan.

Bob Yannes (SID's designer) got so fucked off with the chips being ignored that he went directly to Tramiel and suggested the Commodore 64.

Tramiel was like "sure. if you can do it in six weeks"

So they did
a worn blue computer box with japanese writing and "max machine". computer in front of it has a very small keyboard with a light grey surround barely larger than that keyboard.
