i definitely think it would NOT hurt the image of it given the fact that sadx is an absolute fucking dumpster fire in terms of added reputation beyond a release of a game but i get you
sa1 (dreamcast) is kinda scrappy in a charming way that i wouldn't really wanna see messed with all too much

nah i'm sure they can keep the regular adventure gameplay with spindash/drop dash being in frontiers but i just wouldn't be stoked seeing yet another "the thing you like? how about it: AGAIN!!" when we've been through this song and dance throughout the 2010s

with all that in mind i would not be opposed to seeing heroes, shadow '05 (which is apparently what we call it now), or god forbid sonic '06 getting remade because seeing a mid to bad game become good is neat. also because i like "why would you even do that" remakes

if they do ever get remade (which, frankly, may not be likely given the whole crush 40 situation) i wouldn't be opposed to seeing those games get polish and enhancements that later games have gotten but i'd much prefer taking ideas from the older games and putting it in the newer ones

is it weird to be in the camp of people who don't want to see either sa1 or sa2 remade
like those games have a particular feel to them that i don't think modern-day sonic team would or even should replicate, but i'm entirely fine with that because i wanna see more original stuff from them rn

to add on to this shadow gens is one of the best looking sonic games as of recent and i chalk it up to the animations being put on shadow, like they make him look cool as fuck in that game
