looking at code i wrote in middle school is making me remember that at the time i thought "foo, bar, baz" etc was the Actually Correct way to name variables after reading code examples, and i just kept creating new 3 letter "syllables" whenever i needed more variables (@proloe.gay extreme copter)

Any SaaS product going open source risks another player taking that product, hosting it and undercutting pricing for the same functionality. Eg AWS vs Elasticsearch

IMO one of the biggest hurdles for games as an artistic medium is their over-reliance on combat as a core mechanic.
Saying this as a guy who enjoys a good combat system, but it's emotionally numbing and severely limits a game's narrative scope.
