I picked up a very pretty but very large TTRPG that I will probably never play because y'all who got that kinda time to read all that? And then I need to do work on top of that?

In my most tepid (and strawman) defense, I fear that too many APs are created with "look at me" as the primary focus; there's a solid chunk of the hobby who cannot imagine APs used as teaching tools. To those, you can have instructional videos or Critical Role hopefuls; nothing in between.
