I want to follow and learn more about online privacy, safety and cyber security.

I don't care enough about tech to get into IT side of this, but I could see myself working as a link between the tech experts and those who don't get it at all. Educating the public, practical safety practices etc

I do not have enough patience to deal with kids.

But, addressing parents, teachers, coaches. I acknowledge it has to be done with compassion and not blame.

I doubt parents sit their kids with ipads because they want to be bad parents - they're just busy, stressed, tired and lack community support.
My tiktok got into the wrong audience (I make videos for adults, the themes should not be attractive to kids whatsoever) which is kind of fitting for the theme of the day.

TEACH KIDS HOW TO LURK ONLINE!

If I can tell the patterns of how minors comment, so can predators.

RE: hybrid education

As a former child who learnt nothing in class and had to study everything at home by myself, virtual / hybrid schooling would have been a lifesaver. A self esteem booster. A way to not be left behind my peers.

I am in college 20 years late now and doing GREAT bc it is hybrid.

Some people require structure and in-person guidance to learn. Others do better in virtual and being allowed more freedom in making their own schedule.
Why we can not make hybrid the norm when we got the tools?

Is it bc it costs money short term? But how much will it save in the future??!
Some children can’t cope in mainstream schools. Virtual and hybrid education is helping them—but the government is standing in their way. Dorothy Lepkowska investigates why a proven solution to absenteeism is being ignored.

Could virtual schools hold the key to school attendance?

So much edtech in schools and yet hybrid or remote is ignored

It is as if tech is for data grabs and surveillance and not for accessibility

Ask yourself why schools dumped online and hybrid the second they could in 2020 when we had proof many students thrived with it. Sit with that question

I dreamt of a 21st century where everyone would have access to free, quality education administrated by respectted professionals.

Instead, we can now go into debt for a chatbot access.

The problem with the online safety act is that so much of it was badly thought out and rushed in to “protect children” when in fact it won’t do much but give even more of their data to sketchy age verification software vendors and shut down nice safe small sites, 4chan will still be up
Blackman: "I don't care how many hoops 4Chan have to jump through .. give them as many hoops as you can"; she concludes by referring to the opening statement in the #onlinesafetyact to make services #safebydesign and how angry she is that the Govt is refusing to address the risks of small platforms

There is a button on the copier / printer labelled Release All. If I press it then I am worried that there may be hounds, kraken, and inhibitions all over the place.

I got to figure out feeds... there are many topics that are important to keep tabs on, but would be detrimental to see on main feed every time you log in.
