Have been told we may have ICE officers nearby in Richfield, only blocks from my home. The parking lot they would be in shares space with a charter school that has a high-percentage of Somali and other non-white children. This is not okay.

The Trump admin just fired eight immigration judges in New York City.

All the judges were dismissed from the immigration offices at 26 Federal Plaza — a building that houses the NYC headquarters of ICE and has become the epicenter of migrant arrests in the city.

In the school district my kids attended, a 9th grade civics class was pretty much the last time my kids got an overall look at their government. Years away from voting age.

I think civics should be mandatory in senior year, and a media literacy/critical thinking section should included.

In the last week, Donald Trump has called for the murder of Congressional Democrats and threatened to unilaterally declare an invasion of Venezuela.

If Congressional Republicans followed the Constitution, both of these would be removable offenses. But, they’re loyal to Trump, not the constitution.

If they ever get around to building this thing, it should be bulldozed on Day 1 of a new administration. No messing around, no hemming and hawing about procedure or costs. Order heavy equipment in and start knocking it down immediately, as surely as an overthrown tyrant's statues would be torn down.
