IMO, what people don’t get about .hack//SIGN is that the mystery is the side-plot. It’s really a story about strangers online coming together to help a kid who's severely unwell. They make mistakes & learn to be open-minded & patient even when no progress is made. "Stay with them" is the whole point

Just hope the "touch grass" movement doesnt become ableism and leave people behind. Many people's only way to connect is through online community. Social media is a mess, but virtual spaces are still important and lifesaving.

Oops forgot to post here for awhile, here's my 3-page comic "Double Life" from early this year.
A black and white full page comic titled Double Life by Brittany Penn. It shows a cute alien sleeping and dreaming of many different scenes in different thought bubbles, all adventures with another alien of a similar design but inverse colors. they are flying in the sky, in a classroom, winning a spaceship race, painting with big brushes, sitting on a beach, riding atop a subway train in a city, being weird creatures, being sea creatures, or holding hands in space. The alien awakens and says "Oh I was sleeping." You can see the alien's ship going past planets and the alien examining weird little creatures and plants. They say "I can still see them so clearly in those absurd dreams. It may be millennia, if we ever meet again. But I don't mind, that's how we are. We both have our reasons for living in each galaxy." The alien stands on a weird planet looking out at the cosmos and says "Things I see in my waking life, and the things I see in my dreams, they're all a part of this experience, there's no difference in my mind... After all, all memories become dreams in the end... We've lived so many lives in dreams, and regardless if it's true, I'll never stop living this double life with you."

Some character design ideas I had, inspired from the plants that make coffee, tea, and cocoa. #characterdesign #art
Three cute plant-person characters inspired by coffee, tea, and cocoa. above them are a few facial expressions of each character and below them are reference photographs of the real plants that inspired them, collected from google. The coffee character is leaping in a dancing pose with leaf clothes and many red beaded necklaces and white pompoms on their head like the blossoms. Tea is light green with a leafy cape and tunic and skinny body with e a froglike smile. They are sitting on the ground calmly with the legs folded under them similar to criss-cross position, they have leafs flowing down like hair and a flower blooming on top. Cocoa is brown and yellow with a green leaf on their head like a ponytail. they are short and stout which shapes reminiscent of a Hershey's kiss candy, especially the cape which has fur like the blossoms.
