As I said last night, forced statelessness, de naturalization and genocide are all interacting in separate processes as part of a much larger ongoing system of infrastructure building leading to ethnic cleansing and genocide that is already in action within the country and across the globe

And everyday life of ordinary people is what gives future marginalized communities hope and a sense of belonging. “This person was just like me & they lived and lived and survived, so I can too.” That’s powerful. Archive your story.

And I mean everyone. I don’t care how boring you think your life is. We have no idea what will manage to survive 100, 200, 300 years from this time. It may be your diary and pictures that completes part of the puzzle & informs future historians. Everyday life is like gold to historians.

Maybe Vance should get a better cook to make him turkey some day and stop being so deeply weird about other people’s likes and dislikes. He doesn’t have to like turkey, but denying there’s any reason for someone to like it tells me a lot about his experiences with it.

That’s excellent! And that sort of thing is exactly what I mean by “just walk out” not being the be all & end all of praxis around unethical working conditions. Should some jobs be walked away from? Yes. But those are mainly the jobs that shouldn’t exist in the first place. Otherwise, stay & fight
November 29, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Not to mention that if everyone conscientious quits doing important jobs like education or public service or whatever, then that leaves only the worst people doing those necessary jobs. And that’s SO MUCH WORSE for the rest of us!!
November 29, 2025 at 4:35 PM
Yea exactly. I’m also extremely skeptical of anyone who is like “just quit your job!” To a stranger. Like. You don’t know what someone is doing just to survive, and how highly specialized someone’s skills can get to the point they don’t have many other options. Not everyone can just “walk out”

Not sure how publicly speaking out about the harms of a current authoritarian government while being a citizen subject to that government counts as cowardice, but we are in an age where words no longer mean things so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Since administrators all over the country treat shared governance with faculty as a joke, they need to be reminded, it seems, much more clearly that faculty have a place in governance.

Faculty must unionize now.
