New! We worked with the Public Interest Research Group to test a bunch of LLM-driven toys ahead of the Christmas. That sexual talking teddy bear wasn't a one-off; it turns out disturbing behavior is deeply built into these toys across the board.
AI toys for kids talk about sex and issue Chinese Communist Party talking points, tests show
New research from Public Interest Research Group and tests conducted by NBC News found that a wide range of AI toys have loose guardrails.

This happened in my city last week.

Since it seems like the entire world is obsessing over the potential dangers of teens riding ebikes lately, I feel like a reminder is in order: drivers are far and away the greatest threat to your kid and everyone else on the road, and always will be.

I think it's important to be exact in what problems Waymo does vs. does not solve.

Waymo is *amazing* because...
→ It is safer for pedestrians.
→ It is safer for riders.
→ It can be more accessible.
→ It reduces the need for car ownership.

It is *not* a substitute for public transit or job growth.
Alphabet’s fast-growing autonomous ride company expects to expand to over 20 cities, including London and Tokyo, by the end of 2026, up from its current six.

🚨 EMAIL SCAM ALERT 🚨

Be suspicious of any vague RSVP emails pretending to be Punchbowl.

Do *not* click on the following / delete immediately — it is harvesting your address book + spamming out all of your contacts while pretending to be you:

I can see @theonion.com headline now—"Trump regime apologizes for lawful seizure of oil tanker"
To that end, it's already listed in the IMO db as false flag, indicating Guyana has denied the validity.

Seems both cut-and-dry stateless, and that it's purported flag state Guyana would probably give permission to interdict if asked.

“Strong floor, no ceiling” is absolutely the type of slogan that a focus group of swing voters will tell you they find appealing after it has been a whole hour and they just want to go home.

It’s a slogan for people convinced this country *really* wants a Mike Bloomberg presidential campaign.

I think everyone really overestimates the cause-and-effect that money has over people's (and politicians') opinions.

I think every major policy initiative has to come with a specific Really Obvious Immediate Benefit for voters; if BBB had come with $1000 checks or nationwide free buses or some such, it would have been a huge success. You could fund universal preschool with a fraction of this year’s tax cuts.
Unlike the far right, liberals and progressives do not live inside an endlessly mutable reactionary phantasmagoria where the search for energizing narratives rules all. We have actual policy objectives. Those objectives are doomed to fail in the media dreamland we’re building

Just a reminder that Trump had his attorney general preempt the Mueller Report with a self-serving “summary” and the media ran with it and it defined everything that came after.

Something to remember as we wait for a probably doctored and scrubbed “Epstein Files” report.

Remembering how Biden revived the practice of releasing visitors logs and was rewarded by the press for his transparency with a front page story at his weakest possible moment about how he had Parkinson's based on a Parkinson's expert visiting the WH.

(Turns out, Biden did not have Parkinson's)

QANON CULTIST IN 2017: "In this 1,879 page thread I will unravel the byzantine system of codewords and phrases the global elite use to mask their pedophile cabal."

JEFFREY EPSTEIN WRITING AN EMAIL AT THE SAME TIME: "helo its me jeff had fun cmmitting sex crimes wit u lst weeknd"
pretty funny in retrospect that QAnon hinged on the idea that powerful elites at the highest levels of government were smart enough to talk in code when sending emails to each other about their despicable crimes
