New in PN: The tech industry will come to regret its embrace of Trump

"A comprehensive anti-corruption, pro-consumer movement would inevitably target the industry and its indifference to the harms it creates. It could be incredibly potent, and tech barons would have no one to blame but themselves."

Also we've fetishized "debate” in these spaces as some kind of civic good, when what matters is competence, trust, shared purpose. Medicine, engineering, boardrooms aren’t organized around debate or requirements of false balance. We've poisoned public discourse by insisting it be adversarial.

This is what Musk paid for. No oversight. Investigations dropped. Government contracts to inflate the value of this private company. Sell now before Trump loses control and power. The grift continues unabated!! Sickening.

If you ever claimed you want immigrants to do it the right way, this should outrage you. On the other hand, If you think this was okay, you need to come to terms with your white nationalist views.

🧵This is the narco Trump just pardoned.

The former president of Honduras transformed Honduras into a virtual narco-state.

He financed his political career with drug trafficking proceeds.

Used his presidential authority to pave a cocaine superhighway to the US, and Trump just set him free.
