I have never once spelled the word "failure" right the first time (even then) because of my accent. I say "fay-lee-yoor". Not "Fay-luur". Someone change the spelling officially please, it's offensive to me.

Oh my god I'm gonna find the commentator of the elite men's cyclocross race at Middelkerke who keeps sharply inhaling right down the mic and I'm gonna make them eat my mac and cheese (the worst thing I make)

Worked in the pub all afternoon, then went to my local for a roast, now home watching cyclocross with a magnum. I'm trying hard to beat the winter doomies and honestly I think it's working

Ask people what changes were most significant during the 1960s and you usually hear about the counterculture and the sexual revolution. In reality the major change for many families was getting an indoor toilet.
It is genuinely hard for most people to grasp how poor the past was.

I don't have synaesthesia anywhere near as strongly as I did as a kid, but I thought I would share this little nugget: Rosalía's voice is soft inside like a caramel centre with a brittle dark chocolate coating. Björk is the opposite—more of a rugged truffle hiding scratches of honeycomb

Once again my town and the neighbouring one are in the national news as being the most sought after places to live. Once again I really don't think a 1.5hr journey each way on a packed two-carriage 40 year old train counts as an easy commute

I'm looking for an online German tutor and I've come across an A level student who is fluent and dreams of being an interpreter with 5 languages. Tell me how spending £70-80 per year on an AI language app is better than paying this lad to pursue his passion?
